This house on Pembroke Road, Coorparoo, was a small, very original workers cottage on a tight corner block. The current owners wanted a complete overhaul, to bring the house up to current living standards and create a fabulous inner city pad. We increased the internal area through lifting the house and building in under, adding a large deck to maximise outdoor living also creating parking underneath thanks to the corner location, and completely re-configured the interior layout. A master stroke idea from the client to have open exposed truss ceilings has made the small spaces feel much lighter and larger and gives this house its unique characteristic whilst maintaining the traditional exterior.
